Atrium, in Dumbo Brooklyn Bridge Park Wedding in New York City

Wing and Kit started their day in their home in Brooklyn, NYC! They had the traditional custom of the Chinese tea ceremony and then had their wedding ceremony at their church in Staten Island. We were able to go to DUMBO, to brooklyn bridge park and Janes Carousel to do their gorgeous wedding portraits and bridal party photographs. They then ended their night in Brooklyn again in Dumbo at the restaurant Atrium for a cozy intimate wedding with all their close friends and family. What a way to get around New York City!

Wing & Kit are both designers with a great eye, so I was really excited when they chose me to photograph their big day!  It was a sweet day and everyone that was there to celebrate with them were so lovely and I knew that they had built wonderful relationships with their community.  Their reception was hosted at this gorgeous little restaurant in DUMBO, Brooklyn, called the Atrium!!  It was a beautiful space and it was perfect for an intimate party. Here are some of my favorite shots from the day:

A Cloisters & Fort Tryon Park in New York City Engagement Photography Session

Angel and Wing, aka, Angel-Wings, decided to have their engagement session over my the Cloisters Museum on the Upper West side. The Cloisters is part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on the Upper East side of New York City.  They also really wanted to include Max, Wing's dog, into the session, so we went to Fort Tryon Park after.  I remember Max when he was a little puppy! Now he's all grown up, hyper as ever and seeing his best friend get married.  It is too sweet! Truly love my job as a New York City Wedding Photographer!!

A Sea Glass Carousel Engagement Session in Lower Manhattan near Battery Park

Lily and Dan set a date to do their engagement session, and as the date got closer, the weather started to look more and more cloudy on the weather app.. >_>  We decided we would chance it and wait until the last possible minute to make the final call.  Lily couldn't reschedule because she was getting her makeup trial done that day so we could do the shoot right after.  Finally when the day came- the weather app "said" that it wasn't going to rain during our time frame for the shoot so we were ecstatic!  We met at our proposed place, the Sea Glass Carousel in Lower Manhattan, New York City.  When I got there... it was POURING ;__;  Luckily it was an indoor carousel.. and even luckier was that it was empty since no one else was nearby crazy enough to come during such a huge storm.  I had a such a fun time photographing in the empty carousel and getting great shots of Lily and Dan!!!  After we felt that we had spent enough time there, the rain actually stopped and we were able to finish up the shoot outdoors and walk over to Battery Park!!!  It couldn't have worked out any more perfect! You really never know what to expect when youre trying to shoot weddings or engagements here in New York City!

Central Park, New York City Engagement Photography Session

There's quite a few funny stories to surround this engagement session.  Our first date was overtaken by a massive flash flood thunderstorm warning in New York City - so we had to reschedule.  On the day of the reschedule, it said 0% of rain, yet still managed to have a few drops come down on us. The weather in New York City is SO unpredictable. But we were still determined (because their wedding is coming up soon in August!) and Margaret and Jing are super sweet and patient people!! We had also planned to do the shoot in Central Park.. and when we got there we realize that the NYC Philharmonic free concert was happening the same night! There were floods and floods of people entering Central Park--but we didn't let that get in our way!  We got all the shots we needed and then finished up the shoot at Hudson River Park with some great waterfront shots.  Even through all the obstacles--the shoot ended up being a ton of fun and we got some awesome shots!! You never know what to expect here in New York City - that’s why with weddings you have to be able to be flexible and go with the flow!
