It's been such a long time since I've seen Kim. We went to elementary school together back in College Point. Seeing her really brought back a lot of good old memories. Kim and I started talking again when we were both planning our weddings. She had a hard time finding the perfect dress, and photographer (luckily we then realized that I was a photographer! Haha!) and we were able to exchange advice and thoughts while planning our weddings. Even through we’re both from New York City, she transported me to Portland, Connecticut to photograph her beautiful wedding day. Kim finally managed to find the PERFECT dress and despite a little bit of a drizzle-- her and Chris pulled off a beautiful wedding! Check out some of the highlights:
The Carlton Hotel on Madison Avenue Wedding in New York City
In early October I had the lovely chance to photograph two cute Californian's tying the knot in downtown Manhattan, New York City. Erica and Bryan are two very sweet people. They met in Medical school. Erica as a student and Bryan as her T.A in anatomy class. Bryan insists that he waited until after the class ended before he asked her out. The two really embody a loving atmosphere. From my time spent at the wedding, I noticed that these two individuals come from amazingly loving families. The wedding itself was unique and setup in a fashion that really was dear to the couple. The couples' siblings officiated the wedding and their father's presented a poem. It was so touching and raw that even I, a stranger, felt that strong connection between the families and the couple. Dinner and dancing followed after the ceremony at Millesime, a dark and beautiful restaurant inside the Carlton Hotel. It was truly a unique and beautiful way to celebrate their special moment with a wedding in the heart of New York CIty.
A Long Island City, New York City Wedding
Berdian is an amazing illustrator (Nickelodeon and Nick Toons!) and Monica, a buyer at Barneys NY, fashionably tied the knot in Long Island City, New York. These two had been dating since high school!! They both grew up in Queens, met in Queens and currently now work in Manhattan, so decided that it would only be fitting to get married in between the two boroughs. So Long Island City was a very specific choice. I loved their table numbers! Each table represented their favorite foods and hobbies. It ranged from from BACON, cupcakes, guitars to Xboxes. All the graphics were illustrated by Berdian, along with a beautiful sign-in illustration of the two of them laying on the grass. The wedding was a ton of fun, including some amazing dancing and costumes-- and a slow-motion booth!!!!! What an amazing way to have a wedding in New York City!

We saw some trailers outside.... Breaking Bad.....?
And now an extra treat, made by the groom:
A New York City Wedding at Snug Harbor Cultural Center
The day couldn't be any more perfect. It's been such a rainy Summer, and yet Christy and Dan's wedding day was absolutely perfect! I was really excited to be a part of this wedding... I've seen this wedding from the very start; so to see it come into fruition; it was a huge joy for me! Christy had been showing me all her ideas since day 1 and just blowing me away with some of the amazing DIY projects she made. From the hand-made veil that her mother made for her, to every single center piece item, to the wedding favors, the programs- just about everything at this wedding was meticulously created. The venue was also gorgeous, with high ceilings that flooded the room with natural light. Paired with the simple and elegant center pieces, it was beautiful. Christy also got Dan a surprise Groom's Cake as well!! The cake was decorated with the Yankees logos and bordered by the New York City skyline- which meant a lot to Dan (who is a die-hard yankee fan). We started the day in Brooklyn, then they had their ceremony and reception at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center and it was beautiful! It’s so great to find these hidden gems when you’re having a New York City Wedding! Everything was so sweet, and the wedding was a lot of fun!!!! It was really great being able to see so many old faces and celebrate.
