Hoboken & Central Park Engagement Photography Session in New York City

Rachel and Yang wanted to do their shoot in Hoboken, NJ. It was a special area to Yang-it was where he was living when Rachel and him began dating, so they had a lot of fond memories there. He also really loved the town, the architecture and the spirit there. So I scoped out the area (I have never been there before haha), ate at some great restaurants with my hubby (all suggestions from Yang) and got to see a part of town that really was a hip city outside of New York City. They also wanted to do some shots in Central Park so we scheduled another day to be able to get it! It’s nice to shoot at Central Park! It’s such an iconic New York City destination and great for weddings and engagement session! It was beautiful! Here are some of my favorite shots from the shoot:

We also did another session in Central Park- around 7am in the morning. The light was gorgeous. Some of these shots really allowed me to use and play with light in an aesthetic way! So great!! I love when I get excited about my own photographs...

A New York City Upper West Side Engagement Photography Session

Shooting Melanie and Matt's engagement session was a TON of fun. They picked out a bunch of hot spots that they frequented when they lived in the Upper West Side in New York City. They chose the subway station they always got out of, the supermarket they always shopped at, the cafe they always got their sweets on and then the gardens they used to take strolls in nearby their old apartment. This entire engagement photo shoot was everything that represented their relationship-- and that's what made it so special. Even just being a part of the New York City traffic jams was all part of their lifestyle. Not to mention- I love shooting in the most unique places- supermarkets O__O!! Working with these two was so easy and fun and these photos definitely capture their relationship and personality. I love what I do and I love being a New York City wedding photographer. A Dumbo Brooklyn Snow Storm Engagement Session in New York City with Allaya & Damany

This couple probably has one of the coolest "destiny" type stories. In short, Allaya worked as a barista in Starbucks, and one day, Damany went in with his buddy, and his buddy dares him to hit on Allaya. Allaya at the time had a boyfriend and completely disregards all of Damany's advances, and even ignores his phone calls. Fast forward a few years later at a DIFFERENT Starbucks, New York City location, Damany applies for a job, and guess who his coworker is!!! Now here they are, engaged and getting married! What a sweet story-- revolving Starbucks. Also, the best is that Allaya and Damany were super cool with shooting their engagement session during a snow storm in dumbo brooklyn, new york city!!

So of COURSE we had to do a few photographs inside Starbucks.. By the way, these two are pretty huge gamers :B so I thought this was pretty funny. Haha

I give so much props to these two. It was literally the day after our Big NEMO snow storm in New York City-- and they were being such super troopers by being able to stand still in such cold weather! I loved working with these two fun-loving and hospitable people. I can't wait for their wedding in a week!! :)

Times Square, Grand Central Station and Brooklyn Bridge Photos in this New York City Engagement Session

Meet Tiffannie and John!  Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, Tiffannie and John have been preparing for their big day by traveling the world and getting their wedding and engagement sessions done.  Having last been in Paris, France, they knew the next place they wanted to shoot in was the Big Apple- getting their engagement photos done in New York City!!  So they called me, their New York City Wedding and Engagement Photographer, and wanted to get the most "New York" spots they could.  We decided on doing their NYC engagement session at Times Square, Grand Central Station and finally at Brooklyn's finest, the Brooklyn Bridge!  It was an extremely cold day (as following the tradition of the NYC 2014 Winter Polar Vortex year) and Tiffannie was a super-trooper, her final words for the shoot (even though she was freezing on the top of the bridge was), "It's all worth it!!!"  Such an encouragement!!! :) Here are some of my favorite shots from their engagement session shoot that tooks us all over New York City!!
