A New York City Winter Snowstorm Proposal

Ah!  I was so honored to be able to document this monumental moment.  Stephen has been a good friend of mine for many years, and we've joked and talked about "that day he would get married" - (luckily I beat him to it first- haha jk!!!) but I was so happy when he revealed to me when he met someone wonderful!!  Ester has been an amazing addition to Stephen's life, and both of them make such a power couple.  Their romance brought them all the way from San Francisco and now to New York City. My husband and I love spending time with them.. they're so easy going, down to earth and fun to hang around...  I am so excited for their marriage and know that it will be blessed and fruitful!! Now let me tell you about this photographic experience. It was definitely my first "snowstorm" proposal shoot and never experienced anything like so.  But it was so worth it!  New York City has been experiencing a LOT of crazy snowstorms, we seem to average about one per week these days... so this was last Saturday, 2/15/2014.  The park was a location over on 67th street and 1st avenue, which was close by to the restaurant that Stephen had planned to celebrate with Ester afterwards.  The park was a pretty flat space.. so it was really difficult to find a proper hiding place.  So when they walked in, I literally was sprawled out behind small corner of a gate, trying to get a good angle on the happenings.

Here are some photos of the event and a short little photo session we had after!  They were seriously TROOPERS with withstanding the fast whipping snowflakes!! Enjoy!!

Stephen bought Ester diamond earrings and a gold band as her engagement "ring"- this was something special to her and he got her exactly what she wanted! So cute and different!

A New York City Engagement Photography Session

We wanted to try something a little different.  This was a really fun shoot, we tried to find a good mixture for using my stop-motion animations to create an editorial photoshoot that told the story of Ester & Stephen's relationship.  They're a very relaxed couple who really love being together, whether its studying, napping, having picnics or eating together.. when they're together- things are happy :)

So when we designed this shoot, we wanted to give it somewhat of a story of "A day with Stephen & Ester". Enjoy! (I also added a new trick, after a previous client sent me this link: http://mashable.com/2014/02/24/3d-gifs/?utm_cid=mash-com-fb-main-link - which are gifs that are made "3D" by just adding two extra white lines.. so I wanted to give it a go)

We had a lot of fun at a local park in Queens, and were able to get some amazing photos and gifs that encapsulate this couple and their time in New York City!

The High Line in Chelsea, New York City Engagement Session

We probably picked the best and hottest day in New York City for this photoshoot (unknowingly). The weather these days have been all over the place, rain, rain, rain and then heat then it's like cold again. So crazy!! However, the heat didn't hold us back! These two were such troopers- and I'm telling you it was HOT. They were both probably sweating a storm, but they were able to keep it all under control, model and also have a ton of fun! We walked along the High Line in Chelsea, New York City. We made stops around the west village as well. These two will be getting married soon and having their New York City Wedding in a couple of months! Here are some highlights!!

Glen Cove, New York City Engagement Session

We drove out to this beautiful park over in Glen Cove, Long Island.   It had a beautiful view of the water, large beautiful trees and just a peaceful place to photograph. It’s so nice to get away from New York City sometimes! They had stumbled upon this park a few months earlier and chose it to be the destination for their engagement session.  Jason, I've known probably since I was about 15 years old.  Much like an older brother figure, I was elated when he found his partner for the rest of his life, Alice! And not only is Alice beautiful, but she's so warm-hearted, loving and has such a way of making a person feel so loved and appreciated.  I thank these two for their support and encouragement in my life and so excited to share their big day with them soon!! PS: it was pretty much super windy and super freezing, so cheers to these two for making it look easy!
