Judy is a native Brooklyn nite, and had her entire wedding down in Brooklyn. She got ready back at her parents house, with the infamous chinese tea ceremony, and then a BEAUTIFUL reception in Williamsburg at Juliette Resturant (amazing French cuisine...BY THE WAY..) Judy is also a fashionista and it was a beautiful affair, full of amazing details and quirky items (her kick-ass gold hightop- Michael Kors sneakers!!) that really made the wedding a collection of their personalities. Dave is an impressive "BANE" impressionist, a fun and happy guy, who just really gave off such a welcoming and love towards his new wife's culture and family. It was a beautiful wedding, a beautiful combination and just a beautiful mixture of family, cultures and fun... did I say beautiful enough??! I loved this down to earth, New York City Wedding. The games in Chinese weddings are hilarious. I've seen a plenty, but this one was definitely stood out. The groomsmen had to help each other put on lipstick, pass a banana with their mouths (while taking a bite) and wear some naughty lingerie. AMAZING.
We also had the best of luck on a beautiful May day. Thunderstorms were around us, and just as we got to Brooklyn for some shots, the clouds let up, and it was pouring. Seeking shelter under the Manhattan Bridge, we knew the rain was going to let up soon. As we were waiting, we experienced the least NEW YORK CITY attitude ever. A man ran up to us in ponchos holding a bunch of umbrellas. All of our first reactions were, "how much?"-- but instead, he said he saw us up from his apartment window and came down just to lend us some umbrellas for the time being. I was floored! It was the most thoughtful thing any stranger has done here in New York City (especially in Brooklyn ...) He told us to send him a text after we finished borrowing them, and he would come back down and pick them up.
Lucky for us, it stopped raining soon after, and we were able to get some amazing shots and returned the umbrellas back to our new friend. YAY for GOOD New Yorkers! This makes me again love my job being a New York City Wedding Photographer!
Here are some of the highlights from this wedding:
Lily and Daniel had an beautiful wedding on the New Jersey front overlooking the New York City skyline! It was an perfect November day, with amazing sunshine and warmth. It’s so nice to get out of new york city sometimes to photograph.
So happy to have been able to photograph with Alice and Jason Wu for their big wedding day in July. I photographed their engagement session before! It was a gorgeous outdoors ceremony with many friends and family. The day couldn't have been any more perfect. It was a cool summer morning and the day went so smoothly. I've known Alice and Jason since before they even dated, and now they were married. It has been such a journey and such a beautiful one at that. I am so very happy for them both. I could tell that Alice's father had a bittersweet moment, letting his only daughter go, but I could also tell he was proud, happy and more than willing to allow her to be given to such an honest, faithful and strong man, Jason. After walking his father down the aisle, her father, right before giving up her hand, gave a heartfelt speech. It was a speech that evoked many tears (I seem to cry at every wedding I shoot and then again when I edit ;__;), a speech that was spoken out of love..and a speech that really touched Alice's heart. It was beyond beautiful! I am so happy to have been there to witness such a glorious day and moment, and would like to share some of my favorite shots from the day with you all! Enjoy!
