This was definitely one of the most interesting elopements I've ever done. Shot entirely in the pouring rain! Jackie and Aaron are from LA, California (Peep the LOVE LA street sign in one of these shots later) and their parents were flying in to NYC to witness their union. Although the forecast had rain at 100%, their parents were only going to be in town this weekend - so we knew it was going to happen- rain or shine! We met at the Brooklyn Promenade; the officiant all ready, and everyone had armed with umbrellas! I was able to capture their adorable elopement in the rain, surrounded by their family and friends and it was AWESOME! It was whimsical, romantic, fast paced and definitely the kind of day you'd remember!! Despite the weather, there was a gorgeous backdrop and a lot less people walking around the park (which was really helpful!!) Jackie and Aaron were all up for everything!! Their upbeat spirit and willingness to get amazing shots DEFINITELY made it all worth it!! I had so much fun with them and was so thankful that despite some unforeseen circumstances- they were still able to have fun and enjoy their day!!! I was super excited to blog this elopement and hope you guys will enjoy it too!!
Nicole & Matthew had a sweet, intimate outdoor ceremony in the quaint little neighborhood of Vinegar Hill. Hidden away, they said their vows to each other and celebrated the occasion with delicious dinner, heartfelt toasts and bangin CAKE. Both amazing people with impeccable taste, they had chosen a beautiful resturant and spruced it up with bits and pieces of their personalities. Here are some highlights from the day:
Linda & Daniel had their wedding in the heart of New York City. With a beautiful ceremony in a traditional church on the upper west side and their reception in Soho; no amount of fog or rain could dampen anyone's spirits! It ended up being a gorgeous view and perfect lighting for their portraits- and adding a few umbrellas to the shots just added to the scene!
From Linda's (The Bride) perspective:
"Neither Daniel nor I grew up in New York but had both moved here for work. During our time in New York, we both fell head over heels in love with the city. Especially after we got engaged in the Hamptons, we knew we wanted to have our wedding in New York City, to commemorate and celebrate our time here. From the second we saw the stunning panoramic views of the downtown Manhattan skyline from the top floor of Trump Soho, every other venue paled in comparison. As most of our guests would be coming from out of town, we thought this was the perfect way to showcase for them the city. We chose the Church of the Heavenly Rest for our ceremony because we were enraptured with the majesty and beauty of its architecture, and it most definitely fulfilled the dreams I’d had since I was a little girl of a fairy tale wedding.
For the decorations and floral designs, we wanted to keep everything clean, classic, and elegant. Especially with the stunning architecture of our church and the unique downtown views of Trump Soho, we didn’t want to have too much and detract from their intrinsic appeal.
From my walk down the aisle, to being introduced to all our family and friends as husband and wife for the first time, to dancing the night away with the Manhattan skyline lit up behind us, every detail and every single person we had the opportunity to work with was so perfect and far exceeded anything we had ever imagined."

Katy, a florist from the UK wanted to have her destination wedding in New York City. Philip and her have been to NYC a few times and knew this was going to be the place. Their families flew out from the UK to come and support the exciting event and shower them with love and encouragement! It was a sweet, quick ceremony, followed by some amazing portraitures throughout the city. Katy really loves the gritty urban look of NYC so we tried to incorporate that as much as possible. We ventured through Soho, the West Village and Chelsea.
